Guardsmen From Five States Help Battle Western Wildfires

National Guardsmen from live states worked alongside civilian first responders to battle wildfires in Colo-rado and New Mexico. In New Mexico, 218 New Mexico Guardsmen were on duty on June 13, according to National Guard Bureau officials. The New Mexico Guard had de-ployed three UH-60 Black Hawk he-licopters, two equipped with Bambi buckets and one on standby for medi-cal evacuations.
