In three complementary steps, the author outlines three possible paths for the Levant to extract itself from the mire in which its internal convulsions and the great external game are currently holding it: resolving the competition between different Islamic political models, reconciliation of Levantine societies with the structure of a modern state and establishing new arrangements for the majority and minorities to live together.%La région levantine peine à échapper à cette phase cruciale de convulsions et de turbulences étendues, probablement annonciatrice d'autres perspectives plus compliquées, ce qui la rend hautement imprévisible.
