Electromechanical devices made from electroactive materials are used in precision mechanical systems, optical devices,rnand drug delivery systems. Research has focused on the development of an electroactive material that provides electromechanical properties and/or reduces the power consumption of the material. This invention is a hybrid electromechanical actuator and actuation system that utilizes two different types of electromechanical elements.
