As the first scientist to write an article about Marjorie Fish's outstanding investigation of the Betty Hill star map (Ref. 1), I was of course pleased that Steve Pearse has been digging in to the map as discussed on pagesrn3-6 in the MUFON Journal for August 2009. I also appreciate the fact that he quoted me several times. However, I think he has given a very inaccurate picture of her work. For reasons unknown he has focused on the word triangle over and over again. But Marjorie was focused on trying to determine the identity of pattern stars (supposedly representing trade Routes and occasional expeditions) connected with lines and including the 2 large nickel sized symbols base stars.
