Venus (magnitude -4.6): In Taurus. For northern hemisphere observers Venus will begin the month standing very high above the western horizon at sunset and will set below the northwest horizon about 3 1/2 hours later; by month's end Venus will be standing very low above the northwest horizon and will set below the northwest horizon about 1/2 hour later. For southern hemisphere observers Venus will begin the month standing very low above the northwest horizon at sunset and will set below the northwest horizon about 1 1/2 hours after sunset; as the month passes Venus will sink towards the setting Sun and will be difficult to observe after mid-month.
