For northern hemisphere observers Mercury will begin the month standing above the west-northwest horizon at sunset and will set below the northwest horizon about 13/4 hours later; as the month passes Mercury will sink towards the setting Sun and will be lost in the glare of the Sun before the end of the month. For southern hemisphere observers Mercury will begin the month standing very low above the northwest horizon at sunset and will set below the northwest horizon about 1 hour later; as the month passes Mercury will sink towards the setting Sun and will be lost in the glare of the Sun before the end of the month.
