I Get That All the Time

There's a question that I get asked frequently, which is what is a survivability engineer? My usual response is the same as the answer to the question, what is a Hokie? "I am!" At least, that's the most accessible answer for friends, family, or peers that may not have an engineering background. But there's a more comprehensive (although not as brief) reply to this question that I would like to address for my fellow SNAME members and young professionals.
