Jose Femenia

Editor's note: In a career spanning nearly half a century, Jose Femenia helped to educate and train generations of marine engineers, first at SUNY Maritime College and then at the United States Merchant Marine Academy. His work in the area of powerplants has influenced the thinking and practice of maritime professionals for many years. As an active member of SNAME, he served as president from 1999-2000, and won SNAME's Webb Medal in 1997. Vicky Dlugokecki, (mt) magazine editorial board member and Douglas R. Kelly, editor of (mt), spoke with Femenia in late January about his career and his thoughts on the marine engineering sector.
