Another busy month in the dry S&P market has concluded, with a notable number of sales to report. The increase in spot chartering rates and a healthy interest on the period market are supporting the firming of prices in deals currently taking place. Early in July, the Newcastlemax "Cape Rosa" (203k, 2005, Universal) was tied up for mid-high $13m to clients of Berge Bulk, whilst the "Pacific Oak" (203k, 2005, Universal) has been committed at $14.7m to clients of Seacon. The Capesize "Graceful Madonna (180k, 2010, Koyo) was committed on waiving inspection basis to clients of Eastern Pacific Shipping for excess $20m. She passed SS/DD in February 2020 and is BWTS fitted. The Korean built "Cape Leonidas" (180k, 2010, Daehan) went to clients of NG Moundreas Shipping for $18.5m. The "Great Challenger" (176k, 2005, Universal) went to Chinese buyers on waiving inspection basis at around $11.5m.
