There was steady buying interest in both the crude and products tanker markets in September. The lack of realistic candidates for sale led to high levels of speculation about various "en bloc" sales, especially in the Suezmax and Aframax sectors, encouraged by buyers' bullish sentiment about charter markets for 4q14. DHT Holdings were again in the spotlight in September, with their purchase of 7 Hyundai Samho-built VLCCs at US$590m "en bloc." These vessels were built between 2006 and 2012 and are listed in the sales table on page 22. The deal was negotiated earlier this year but only finalised in the past month. Elsewhere, BW Group reportedly sold their "BW Nysa" (299,543dwt, blt 2000, Daewoo) to the Greek investors Smart Tankers Inc. for around US$30m.
