The last month has seen another burst of Capesize volatility, with the average of the 5 TCs (180k dwt) jumping around $6,600/day in just three trading days in late September to $15,295/day, which, in turn, dragged the Capesize:Panamax earnings ratio close to the highest value of the year (2.4). The Capesize average then succumbed to downward pressure in early October and had sunk to $10,706/day at time of writing.
