BULKER & TANKER FLEET ADDITIONS

Last month, we examined removals from the dry bulk and tanker fleets so far this year, comparing these with fleet deletions in the same period of 2014. This month, we undertake a comparable analysis of fleet additions for both ship types. This shows that, in the first 7 months of 2015, bulker deliveries have held at very similar volumes to those of January-July last year; by contrast, for tankers (including chemical carriers) a significant increase has ensued.
