New operator at Tilbury

Maritime Transport has become the new operator of Tilbury Railport, the riverside rail terminal at Tilbury. The 1.5-ha common-user site offers open access to all train operators for any type of unitised traffic. It can accommodate two full trains at any one time and Maritime plans to run the facility 24 hours, six days a week. As well as providing train loading/unloadingrnservices, Tilbury Railport offers secure loaded and empty container storage. Ateam of three staff and three forklift drivers are based at the facility.
