PPE INAUGURATES TILBURY2 TERMINAL

THE FIRST commercial workings into the intermodal terminal at Forth Ports' new Tilbury 2 development took place over the weekend of 28-29 November 2020, with three trains conveying containers of personal protective equipment for the National Health Service. These were operated by Freightliner (two trains) and GB Railfreight, each of 30 containers, with the first train (4Z36/37) worked by No 66548 from Felixstowe North Terminal on Friday 27 November, running via an overnight layover in Wembley yard. The empty wagons returned there after unloading, returning to Felixstowe on the following Monday morning.
