VERSTER CONFIDENT

Scotrail alliance managing director Phil Verster has told Modern Railways of his confidence that delays to electrification of the Great Western main line will not set back plans to transfer 27 HSTs north of the border for inter-city services in Scotland. ScotRail aims to bring its first HSTs into service in June 2018, but the sets will require refurbishment, including the fitting of power doors, before this can be achieved.
