JAKE KELLY TAKES OVER AT EMT

Stagecoach has announced that David Horne is to head up the new Inter-city East Coast franchise, which begins in March 2015. Mr Horne, 42, was previously Managing Director for Stagecoach-owned East Midlands Trains. He moved in January to'play a leading part in the mobilisation and transition arrangements'for the new franchise, and will become Managin Director when the franchise begins. Inter City Railways, a joint venture between Stagecoach and Virgin, was announced as the winner of the franchise in November 2014 and will trade under the name'Virgin East Coast'. Mr Home began his career on the railways in 1988 as a ticket office clerk in Cornwall, and has since held senior positions within South West Trains and Virgin Trains, as well as leading Stagecoach's bid for the East Midlands franchise in 2007. He has been succeeded at East Midlands Trains by Jake Kelly, formerly Development Director for the South West Trains-Network Rail alliance. Mr Kelly, 40, began his career as a transport economist before joining Stagecoach in 2001. He was Customer Service Director for EMT from 2007 to 2010 before moving to South West Trains, where he was Commercial Director and then Customer Service Director, before becoming Development Director in 2013.
