THE SCOTTISH Government has announced emergency funding for the Glasgow Subway and Edinburgh Trams in response to the financial impacts of the Covid pandemic. The emergency measures will be in place from July to the end of September, with the support valued at up to £9 million. The UK Government has provided two support packages for light rail and metro systems in England, covering the period from March until August, but this is the first support announced for Scottish systems since the pandemic took hold.
