Hochtief for new Exeter depot

GREAT WESTERN Railway has awarded a contract to Hochtief to build a new depot on the site of the existing Exeter Olds View facility, adjacent to St David's station.GWR is creating a larger facility to accommodate an increase in its fleet size in Devon and Cornwall. Construction work is due to begin this spring and be completed by early summer 2019.The new depot will service Class 150 DMUs, Class 158s transferred from the Bristol area by the arrival there of Class 165/166 Turbo DMUs, and shortened '244' HSTs, which will be used by GWR on services between Exeter and Penzance.
