Regarding the Harold Hall article on modifications to domestic electrical installations I suspect that much of what he is suggesting requires, at the least, inspection, testing and approval by a registered electrician. This requirement is stipulated in the latest English and Welsh Building Regulations. Only limited alterations can now be carried out by house owners without professional assistance.
