摘要

Catherine Haslam reports on whether European operators can learn the vital lessons of i-mode and a new GSM Association initiative that looks to demonstrate that they are finally seeing the light. There is money to be made as a bit pipe, says Takeshi Natsuno, the brains behind NTT DoCoMo's i-mode service. This bold and controversial statement came as Natsuno presented to a group of operators from around the world at a Motorola customer event held in Berlin. But, he countered, this can only be achieved if content providers are given the architectural and business environments that best suits their needs.
