Disagreements in business are usually kept behind closed doors; if they do hit the public sphere, they're usually couched in diplomatic language or off the record quotes. When this doesn't happen, it makes the industry (and journalists) sit up and notice, such as in the case of Deutsche Telekom at this year's 5G World event. Uwe Janssen, the operator's VP for Innovation and Research, raised eyebrows when he accused Ericsson, Huawei and Nokia, the three big beasts of the vendor world, of "limited innovation" and amounting to a "closed shop" that stops others from disrupting it.
