Amid all the competitive pressures facing operators in the world's rapidly evolving telecoms markets there is one factor common to all - the need to manage networks for optimal efficiency and so realise the full potential for revenue generation. But it is a considerable challenge to keep track of the many parameters that determine network performance on a day to day basis. Too easily this turns into a "firefighting" exercise - deploying expensive resources when major problems arise rather than preventing these problems in the first place.
