Ericsson wins big in China

Swedish kit vendor Ericsson has scored infrastructure agreements worth nearly $l.5bn with China's two leading mobile carriers. In separate deals, Ericsson has signed a GSM expansion framework agreement with China Mobile valued at $1.3bn and another with China Unicom valued at around $140m. China Mobile and Unicom provide mobile services to about 550 million subscribers. The expansion projects will allow both operators to boost their network capacity and performance.
