A new vision for Nuneaton

Warwickshire CC and Nuneaton and Bedworth BC are working together to deliver the transformation of Nuneaton town centre, by implementing mixed-use regeneration for boosting economic growth. The vision is to transform Nuneaton into a prosperous town centre. A town where people choose to live, do business, shop and visit. The town is currently one of the areas of greatest deprivation in Warwickshire with higher levels of unemployment and lower than average educational attainment. The strong, joined-up approach across the authorities forms the Transforming Nuneaton programme, which aims to turn that around. The county and borough explain below. Identifying any issues that need to be addressed and working with partners to correct them are the key to regenerating an area. It is never just one prevalent issue that regeneration projects seek to rectify, but a suite of them. The regeneration project takes the form of building blocks, all the pieces coming together.
