So what has Peer done for me? I have spent the last 12 years working (really!) hard, climbing the HR ladder, starting as a graduate trainee and then working my way quite quickly through a range of management and leadership roles in HR at Manchester City Council. Those of us in local government know how hard the last 10 years in particular have been, with successive budget cuts having to be managed while need and deprivation prevails, having to be ever more creative in how we do things and essentially working bloody hard.
