The past six months has revolutionised the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea's (RBKC) approach to public services and to work. Previously, like other local authorities, it discussed the benefits of digital transformation in term of the nature of service deliver and the character of work, and it implemented these changes if there was a compelling business case. Now, the council has learnt how to accelerate these changes, and to embed them into the fabric of service delivery and in the way it works. In London, the bi-borough partnership between Kensington and Chelsea RBKC and Westminster City Council is searching for a new chief information officer who will be at the heart of this continuing revolution. In Kensington and Chelsea, the Council was on a major journey of organisational change before COVID-19. This journey started with the 2017 Grenfell tragedy. At the centre of the culture change, there are four core values; putting communities first; respect; integrity and working together.
