Clinical placements in Englandhave been given a £10m fundingboost following an increase inapplications.Health Education Englandwill invest up to £10m in 20/21to secure additional clinicalplacements after a 6% increase inapplications.Mark Radford, chief nurse atHealth Education England, alsooutlined plans to invest £1m ayear to support hospital trustsand higher education institutionswith return to nursing practices,and £1m a year to reduce studentattrition.Extra funding will be given tosupport nursing associates andapprentices to go on to train asregistered nurses. It will alsocontinue to invest £50m forworkforce transformation supportand build on its investment indistrict nursing.
