Inspectorate and council in clash over local plan

Sevenoaks DC has begun judicialreview proceedings after theGovernment’s planning inspectorrefused to endorse its new localplan.Inspectors told the council lastmonth that it had failed to workwith neighbouring local authoritiesto accommodate homes thatcould not be built in the districtbecause of the Green Belt andother protections. Council leader,Cllr Peter Fleming, said: ‘Takinglegal action is not something wewould undertake lightly. It’s ahuge frustration that, after so muchwork, we cannot take our planforward at this time.’
