Let's not tar SIBs with the PFI brush

This article is not intended to persuade public authorities that social impact bonds (SIBs) are wonderful and they should all rush out and procure one. It is intended to challenge the statement, heard on several occasions at various industry gatherings, that 'SIBs are the new private finance initiative (PFI) so best avoided', and will hopefully go some way towards eliminating (or at least limit) the risk that this misconception leads to missed opportunities.
