Lloyd suspends case for Herts Fire & Rescue takeover

Hertfordshire's police and crime commissioner has halted his proposed takeover of the county's fire service. David Lloyd has signed a memorandum of understanding with Hertfordshire CC, under which he has agreed to suspend his business case for taking on responsibility for Herts Fire and Rescue Service. Instead, the county council will continue to govern the fire service, with a Hertfordshire emergency services collaboration board established to look at ways the services can work together.
