Councils under pressure to deliver efficiency plans

Senior finance and policy officers will gather next month to thrash out top tips for councils thinking about the efficiency plans the Government has demanded. Two events will be held - in London and Leeds - before a short document is produced for councils to use. Communities secretary Greg Clark has hailed a 'historic opportunity for councils to achieve greater certainty and confidence from a four-year budget' as long as they produce an efficiency plan.
