Hackney Council has been something of a trailblazer for new ways of working around health and social care in recent years and it's now looking for someone to lead a fundamental shift in the way services are planned and delivered. This diverse London borough's models for school improvement and social work have not only transformed services locally, they have also inspired and influenced peers in local government throughout the country. But Hackney is now facing its biggest challenge to date - to drive forward the integration of health and social care and improve standards even further at a time when resources are diminishing. That's why a new strategic role has been created to draw together key service areas and ensure a more holistic approach is taken.
