The focus on culture change and developing a positive, productive culture is likely to continue for the foreseeable future across the public sector. Everyone seems to be putting energy and resources into what is needed for the future and how to bring about real and lasting change. It's fun and hard work and absolutely needs doing but sometimes it can feel a bit scary for all concerned. Delivering this change requires effort and the spotlight is on what we do as much as on what we say we need to do. At the same time concerns are growing around attracting and retaining talent, especially where it is most needed to lead the transformation of our services at a time when pay and conditions are being eroded. We are working harder than ever to improve engagement and to keep staff motivated through uncertainty and challenging circumstances. The way people feel about their boss and their workplace and how they are treated impacts directly on their performance - and what they say about where they work will affect our reputation as an employer. The circle continues.
