Stephen Williams is the new Lib Dem minister at the DCLG. He is MP for Bristol West, an area encompassing the historic city's much-vaunted Clifton area as well as the university. He replaced Don Foster, the outgoing MP for the nearby constituency of Bath, who was appointed Liberal Democrat chief whip in last autumn's reshuffle. On assuming his predecessor's offices, Stephen disposed of pictures of the rival town and replaced them with tasteful pictures of Bristol and castles from his native Wales - as well as a few Regency-era political prints.
