The Welsh Local Government Association (WLGA) has called for more clarity from the Welsh Government over future funding arrangements. In a letter to the Welsh Public Accounts Committee, the WLGA said the Welsh Government needs to provide more detailed projections on what budgets will be allocated to local authorities so they can plan more effectively. The WLGA's finance spokesman, Cllr Shotton, said: 'Local government in Wales is already managing a collective £290m shortfall in this year's budget, and with the continuation of UK austerity measures within public spending, this is a situation that is expected to worsen over the coming years.
