Cuts a major threat to social care

Social care bosses have warned they are struggling to maintain services in the face of public spending cuts. In a report published today, leading healthcare think tank The King's Fund claims more than a third of adult social services directors are planning to reduce services over the next year. Almost half (46%) the directors surveyed thought the quality of services they had commissioned had got worse in the past 12 months.
