Partnership can work

I read with interest about the conclusions of the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on local growth on the resourcing and independence of Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs). While LEPs" ability to balance different interests is crucial, the APPG's report also makes dear that many LEPs are proving valuable vehicles for collaboration on local growth between the public and private sectors. I am a director of the Solent LEP which is funded with support from local authorities, including the Isle of Wight. We recognise the key role of LEPs in driving economic growth and creating jobs, and we support the private sector in providing the leadership to make it work.
