A new permanent director of children and family services has been appointed at Telford and Wrekin Council. Laura Johnston, who had been in the role on an interim basis, has been appointed to the £109,000-a-year position. Officials said the appointment would bring the authority into line with recommendations from the Government's Munro report, in the wake of the Baby P tragedy.
