Peterborough rises to the Big challenge

A pioneering Big Society-style programme to protect frontline services and encourage greater civic participation in Peterborough has had a successful first year, the RSA has reported. A report, published by the arts and public policy think-tank on 27 July, claims that Peterborough City Council should be 'commended' for protecting its residents from the worst of the public sector cuts while taking steps to encourage Big Society-style participation in the construction, management and delivery of local services.
