摘要

I'm sure accountability must be on the mind of all leaders at the moment. And I'm sure many third sector leaders watching the Murdochs in the dock last week will have been watch- ing with an element of satisfaction as the mighty were brought humble and low. But do we as leaders of third sector organisations have the right to be entirely self-satisfied? In my last column I spoke about the Government's recent White Paper on Open Public Services which raised the issue of accountability in delivery. The paper dearly stated, 'providers must be held to account by commissioners and service users....we will ensure that, at both the national and local levels, commissioning decisions and the performance of providers are transparent and open to public scrutiny'.
