Deaf charity 'appalled7 as councils cut school funds

Almost one in five councils have cut education services for deaf children, according to a new survey by the National Deaf Children's Society. Research by the charity revealed that 28 councils in England had already made cuts to education services for deaf children, and a further 24 local authorities were at high risk of reducing services. The charity received responses from 141 local authorities and found that, despite a legal obligation, 96% did not consult parents about the cuts.
