Chief executives earning more than £100,000 have been offered their first pay rise in eight years. The 1% on basic salary from 1 April followed by another 1% from April 2017 matches the offer for other groups of local government staff. A letter from Association of Local Authority Chief Executives' (ALACE) honorary secretary, Amar Dave, seen by The Ml, said members' pay had decreased by at least 20% in real terms. Mr Dave also pointed out that evaluated pay and grading structures had been 'undermined and salary relativities eroded' as awards had been made to other staff in 2009,2013 and 2015.
