DfE accused of 'political posturing' in Khan case

The Department for Education has been accused by a MP of 'political posturing' over the Hamzah Khan serious case review (SCR). Lib Dem MP for Bradford East, David Ward, said he was 'disappointed' by the department's conduct after children's minister Edward Timpson used the media to express 'deep concerns' with the SCR after it was published. Mr Ward said: 'The department was in contact with the safeguarding board throughout the review process, with the minister also confirming that they had read the report before it was published.
