Leader wins two-year court battle over planning issue

Westminster City Council leader, Colin Barrow, has won a two-year battle with a Suffolk district council over planning issues surrounding the renovation of his former home. Suffolk Coastal DC brought nine charges against its former deputy leader, Cllr Barrow, for unauthorised alterations to the £2.7m house. But judge David Goodin ruled the action was an abuse of proceedings and threw out all charges at a hearing at Ipswich Crown Court this week.
