TUC study warns against sweeping budget cuts

Swingeing cuts in public sector budgets will impact heavily on private sector jobs and limit the UK's ability to drag itself out of recession quickly, the Trades Union Congress warned this week.A joint study by the TUC and the Association of Public Service Excellence (APSE) warned politicians and senior officials to avoid the temptation to axe public budgets and jobs as an immediate response to Britain's spiralling debt.
