A tale of two White Papers

In the past few weeks we have had two white papers, each is of critical importance to children's services, but for very different reasons. The importance of teaching: The schools White Paper which education secretary Michael Gove presented to the Commons does what it says on the tin. It is all about teaching and what happens in schools. In the context of the incremental dis-integration of children's services, which began on day one of the Gove reign with the re-branding of the department as the Department for Education, it is not surprising that there is no significant mention of children's services in the White Paper.
