More authorities review future of executive role

Moves to scrap the post of chief executive in councils have taken a step forward, with another high-profile authority reviewing the role while Wiltshire Council has extended its consultation. The leader of Trafford MBC announced his authority would not be recruiting a new chief executive until May next year, pending a review of the role. Cllr Matt Colledge said Theresa Grant would stay on as acting chief executive until the post was reviewed in May 2012.
