Hackney LBC and Hackney Homes have selected Genesis Housing Group as the preferred bidder for a ￡750m contract. The group will be the registered social landlord for the latest phase of the Woodberry Down regeneration scheme. Subject to a successful stock transfer ballot, possibly in November, Genesis will work within a consortium with a developer that is expected to be appointed in the summer. They will manage 1,100 existing homes on the estate and replace the existing homes with new social rented homes, as well as add around 550 intermediate homes.
