Radical decisions 'will be required'

We welcome the resistance of Lord Hut-ton [in his final report on the future of state sector pensions] to making changes which would create a race to the bottom. Rather than narrowing the gap between public and private sectors by destroying public pensions, we should stand up for better private pensions and, by implication, see how we can help achieve that.It is dear that radical decisions are going to have to be made by the Government to allow people to build adequate retirement savings in a way that is sustainable for the state.
