Justice for looked-after kids

I he failure to support consistently the needs of looked-after children has been the focus of much recent debate and discussion. The subject has attracted the attentions of the children's improvement board of the Local Government Association, the All Party Parliamentary Group on looked-after children, and reform groups such as the Prison Reform Trust. It is encouraging that Edward Timpson, the enthusiastic chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group, which covers this policy area, has now been appointed minister with specific responsibility for looked-after children, because we want to see concrete actions to address the needs of children who do not have families to fight their cause.
